We are a group of parents, caregivers, and staff with a desire to nurture a sense of belonging within the Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School community. We aim to provide ways for families to engage and connect with the school and one another and to help give our children access to a wider range of learning resources and opportunities by organising fundraising initiatives.
We run regular events throughout the year such as termly sausage sizzles, a disco, and second-hand uniform sales. We also aim to run community events and support local businesses where we can, eg. through our November Raffle Calendar, and our Midweek Treat scheme.
Our fundraising has enabled us to contribute to the supply of school chrome books so parents are not required to provide devices for their children. Other examples of funding include wet weather play and sports equipment, treats for school fun days, purchasing the slide for the new playground, and a contribution towards the school tunnel house. We have also subsidised swimming, gymnastics, and ice skating lessons.
There are many ways you can get involved, and we value all contributions! If you are interested in finding out more about the school and would like to get to know some more about our community, come along to one of our monthly meetings on a Monday evening. You’ll receive a warm welcome, a cuppa, and home-baking!
If you are willing to be involved in any of our events but would rather not attend meetings, please send us an email and we can put you on our mailing list:
