As you may have seen in the news, educators across Aotearoa will take part in a historic national strike on Thursday, 23 October 2025.

Industrial Action – NZEI Te Riu Roa Strike – Thursday 23 October 2025

For the first time, principals, teachers, support staff, and Ministry specialists are standing together to call for fair pay, stronger support in schools, and the resources our tamariki need to thrive. 

After careful consideration of available staff, the Board has determined that we are unable to provide safe or effective instruction during the strike. The school will therefore be closed for instruction on Thursday, 23 October 2025. 

Please make alternative arrangements for your child/children on this day, as no supervision can be provided at school. 

We know this may cause some inconvenience for parents, whānau, and learners. Learner safety is our primary concern. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
